No Local Foundation was established by Małgorzata Mleczko and Patrycja Musiał in the beginning of 2008. It’s working in the field of contemporary arts. Its aims include popularizing as well as developing theoretical reflection on visual art, curating and exhibiting.
No Local’s name stress that the foundation does not realize its projects in a gallery space defined by one specific address and emphasize open character of its activities. This form is a kind of challenge because it requires constant redefinition of a role of curator, artist ans spectator. It is engaged in educational and socially minded actions. In its projects No Local undertake notions of participation and site-specificity. No Local Foundation is trying to build a network between other institutions and organizations, NGOs and independent curators.
